The Estonian Medical Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to unite doctors for the protection of public health, the development of healthcare policy and the promotion of medical culture. The Union also acts as a trade union, the purpose of which is to represent and protect the occupational and professional, economic and social rights and interests of doctors. 🧑🏼‍⚕️🫶🏼

The union was founded in 1921, but the roots of this union extend way back into the 19th century. It has ever since acted as a voice, which represents doctors all across Estonia. EMA also has an established Ethics committee consisting of 4 members. The ethics committee is responsible for producing guidelines on bioethics dealing with problems of medical ethics within the association. 🩺
